EPOHOA encourages you to share the following information with your homeowners.

         If you have been following the local news lately you are aware of two issues related to Potomac Edison, a FirstEnergy company, the main provider of electricity in the Eastern Panhandle.  The issues are:

         Potomac Edison’s Questionable Billing Practices:

         Month after month of estimated bills, that are much higher than normal and for which the company has not resolved or offered a reasonable explanation

         Purchase of the Harrison Power Station:

         The WV Public Service Commission has scheduled a hearing for the purchase of the Harrison Power Plant on May 29th in Charleston, WV.  This makes it very difficult for local citizens to attend and voice their concerns.  If you would like an opportunity to voice your concerns, you are encouraged to attend a public forum sponsored by The Jefferson County NAACP, Coalition for Reliable Power, and WV Chapter, Sierra Club.

         These groups are holding a citizens’ public hearing at 7:00 PM on Wednesday, May 22, 2013, at Wright Denny Intermediate School in Charles Town where they will share experiences, gather information and provide feedback to the West Virginia Public Service Commission, your elected representatives, and representatives from the electric company.
